The role of the producer

Who owns the rights to my work?

  • The university does. Any money made from the work has to be spoken to the university first but your own work can be promoted.
  • Anyone who has put work into making the film, inside and outside university, need to be fully credited. Plus the university has to be credited at the end of the film
  • When filming in public places/ with actors, full legal consent is needed.
  • can't pay for documentaries and they have to be true to the meaning of the film and not represented wrongly.
  • all music needs to be copyright free
  • Archive and images need to be cleared/ have permission to use them
